KOTRA Pledges to Attract More Korean Investors to Cambodia

The Korea Trade and Investment Agency (KOTRA) has promised to attract more Korean investors to Cambodia, as more than 200 companies are currently investing in Cambodia, according to a discussion between Minister of Commerce HE Pan Sorasak and KOTRA on 27January 2023. 

During the meeting, the minister confirmed with the Korean side that the entry into force of the Cambodia-Korea Free Trade Agreement (CKFTA) is an appropriate time to discuss trade and economic promotion and increase the use of the CKFTA. 

Through the CKFTA, the Korean side believes that it will further boost trade between the two countries, which could boost cooperation in the fields of digital technology and agriculture. 

Meanwhile, KOTRA has promised to attract more Korean investors to Cambodia, especially in the above areas and automotive parts and wood products sectors. 

In this meeting, the minister also requested the Korean side to invest in the processing and packaging of agricultural products, including cassava, rubber, banana, turmeric, mango, and other tropical fruits to promote export. 

Recently, representatives from Malaysia also promised to bring more Malaysian businessmen and tourists to Cambodia. (Read more)
