Malaysia pledges to bring more investors & tourists to Cambodia

Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia Datuk Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim has promised to bring more investors and tourists into Cambodia, especially Sihanoukville.

Datuk Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim said that during the meeting with the Sihanoukville Provincial Administration top official recently

Mr Mang Sineth, Deputy Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, said that Sihanoukville has many natural resources such as 32 islands, and 175 kilometres of coastline.

In 2022, Sihanoukville has an economic growth rate of 2.3% and a poverty rate of 1.86%, he added.

The growth is replying to agricultural development (palm oil, rubber,  tourism, industry, trade, and special economic zones.

The provinces have roads, waterways, deep-sea ports, international airports, and railways, which are the necessary infrastructure.

Recently, the Inter-Ministerial Committee on unfinished buildings in Sihanoukville has set out a policy framework to resolve more than 1,000 unfinished buildings. (Read more)
