The first edition of the global bilingual digital directory for the 5th Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition (2027 CICEE) has recently completed its integrated, multi-channel promotional campaign.

With a focus on year-round industry services and helping exhibitors expand into international markets, the exhibition established a five-tier global communications matrix spanning five targeted promotional channels. Each channel delivered measurable exposure and audience reach, helping companies build lasting online customer-acquisition pathways. The campaign also generated advance interest among prospective buyers for the “Ten Countries, Hundred Cities, Thousand Enterprises” domestic and international roadshow, using digital outreach to help businesses develop opportunities worldwide.
Five-Tier Global Communications Matrix Delivers Measurable Results

Channel 1: CICEE’s Official Owned Media Network in China (16 Platforms)
Platforms: The official CICEE WeChat public account and service account, a dedicated directory section on the exhibition website, and 13 major content platforms: Douyin, WeChat Channels, Kuaishou, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, Toutiao, Zhihu, Weibo, Baijiahao, Sohu, NetEase and Tencent’s content platform, among others. Text-and-image posts, short videos and posters were distributed on a regular basis.
Results: The channel generated 1.463 million impressions and reached 421,000 industry professionals across five major equipment-industry clusters in Hunan, Jiangsu, Shandong, Hubei and Zhejiang. The audience included purchasing managers at equipment manufacturers, component-business owners, and management teams from construction and equipment-rental companies. A permanent directory section on the official website allows industry users to revisit and search the content at any time, building a sustained audience over time.
Channel 2: More Than 20 Leading Chinese Construction Machinery Trade Media
Platforms: Twenty leading industry media outlets—including HC360 Construction Machinery, Tiejia, Global Construction Machinery, China Construction Industry Information, Intercontinental Mining, Construction Machinery Weekly, Sand and Aggregate Equipment, Nongji 1688 and Jiandao.com—created dedicated feature pages featuring the complete first-edition digital directory and a link to view it online.
Results: The channel generated 785,000 impressions and reached 510,000 professionals in China’s complete-equipment, hydraulics, mining and agricultural machinery sectors. These audiences represent key decision-makers and practitioners across the industry. The media feature pages remain online and can continue to be indexed by search engines, generating long-tail traffic over time.
Channel 3: Targeted Multilingual Promotion on Eight Major Global Social Platforms
Platforms: Facebook, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and Tumblr. Dedicated Chinese- and English-language content was developed for these eight platforms and targeted at procurement audiences in Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Results: The channel generated 624,000 impressions. LinkedIn content was designed to reach overseas business executives and procurement decision-makers, while Facebook and TikTok helped build broader visibility among local construction contractors and equipment-rental businesses. The campaign reached key construction machinery markets including India, Russia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Germany and Spain.
Channel 4: Promotional Partnerships with Local Industrial Publications in Southeast Asia
Partners and platforms: The campaign worked with the digital media channels of regional trade publications, including Southeast Asia Construction in Singapore; Cranes & Transport in India; Thailand Infrastructure and Thailand Construction in Thailand; and Construction Master and Bina Tech in Malaysia. These outlets published promotional content for the digital directory.
Results: The channel generated 415,000 impressions and engaged 78,000 local industry professionals across Southeast Asia and Belt and Road markets, including infrastructure contractors, mining companies and agricultural machinery distributors.
Channel 5: Targeted Email Campaign to More Than 2,000 Global Buyers
Approach: The organizing committee compiled a global buyer database covering seven equipment categories, bringing together 2,068 qualified business contacts. These included equipment distributors, EPC contractors, national infrastructure associations and procurement leads at design institutes. Directory access links were sent in targeted batches to audiences in Southeast Asia, Europe, the Americas and Africa.
Results: The campaign delivered the directory directly to key purchasing decision-makers in 23 countries: the United States, Germany, Russia, Spain, Italy, India, Türkiye, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Laos, Brunei, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Argentina, Zimbabwe and Nepal. With targeted exposure across a broad international buyer base, participating companies in five sectors—construction machinery, emergency equipment, transport equipment, agricultural machinery and mining machinery—reported a notable increase in business inquiries. The campaign demonstrated the commercial value of a digital platform for showcasing products and connecting suppliers with buyers.
A Year-Round Digital Platform Works Hand in Hand with Overseas and Domestic Events
Permanently hosted online and available to view throughout the year, the first-edition bilingual digital directory overcomes the limitations of traditional exhibitions, where exposure is often short-lived and connections may fade after the event. Backed by CICEE’s five-tier global media network, it creates an integrated service cycle: building awareness before the exhibition, facilitating targeted connections during the event, and supporting ongoing business development afterwards. The initiative is designed around companies’ global business needs and provides continued support as they expand into international markets.
The directory has also been designated as an official standard business resource for key domestic industry matchmaking events in Guangdong, Shanghai and other locations, as well as overseas brand-promotion events in Indonesia, Vietnam, Russia, Italy, Spain, Austria and other countries. By generating broad online exposure in advance and connecting exhibitors with international buyers before in-person meetings, the initiative helps make business discussions between government and companies, as well as between companies, more focused and productive. It enables every overseas business visit and matchmaking event to deliver more relevant opportunities.
Many participating companies across the industrial value chain have responded positively. They noted that the CICEE bilingual digital directory provides a cost-effective way to reach global procurement audiences in 23 countries without geographical constraints. By reducing the communication and trial-and-error costs of international customer development and cross-border business matching, it offers practical support for both leading manufacturers and small and medium-sized businesses seeking to expand overseas.
The organizing committee said the first edition’s integrated, multi-channel campaign has established a standardized and replicable digital promotion model that can be used on an ongoing basis. It will serve as an operational blueprint for future editions of the digital directory, which will be updated every two months throughout the year. Looking ahead, the committee will continue to focus on helping companies connect with global buyers and maximizing the exhibition’s value across the entire industry cycle. By leveraging its digital platform to connect businesses with international markets and overseas business opportunities, CICEE aims to evolve beyond a short-term exhibition into a world-class industrial and trade hub that supports companies in sustaining foreign trade and expanding their global business year-round.
