Cambodia Pulls in Over $1.7 Billion from Tire Exports in First Three Quarters of 2026

Cambodia’s international tire exports have maintained an impressive growth trajectory, generating more than $1.7 billion in revenue during the first three quarters of 2026. Spanning from January through September, the stellar performance highlights the swift emergence of the country’s tire manufacturing sector as a vital pillar of export diversification, following traditional sectors like textiles and agriculture.

Data released by the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) reveals that tire export revenue reached $1,723 million during the nine-month period. This figure represents a dramatic increase of 77.46% compared to the same timeframe in the previous year. The sector’s exponential rise builds upon strong momentum from 2025, when the Ministry of Commerce reported that Cambodia’s tire exports brought in $1.38 billion, marking a 57.86% surge over 2024 results.

Fueling this manufacturing boom is a solid domestic supply of raw materials. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, Cambodia’s total rubber plantation area stood at 448,051 hectares as of July 2026. Of this total, tapped rubber plantations accounted for 357,483 hectares—or 80%—while immature areas under active maintenance covered 90,568 hectares, representing the remaining 20%. This steady supply chain positions Cambodia competitively within the global automotive supply network, attracting sustained foreign investment and reinforcing broader industrial growth. (read more)
