Land ministry to organise sustainable development forum

In response to rapid urbanisation, the Ministry of Land Management Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC) and the United Nations are planning to hold a sustainable urbanisation development forum, according to a post on the Ministry’s Facebook page on 17 June 2019.

According to the outcome of the meeting between H.E Dr Pen Sophal, Secretary of State of MLMUPC and United Nations Representative for Cambodia Ms Pauline Tamesis, the ministry will organise the ‘High Level Urbanisation in Cambodia 2019’ forum in October 2019.

The forum will be held under a theme of ‘Managing Urbanisation for Sustainable Development in Cambodia’ which has been an interesting subject for both the public and private sectors as a result of rapid urban development.

In fact, the recent property and construction forum organised by the European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (EuroCham) also focused on sustainable urban development.

In addition, the Eurocham forum also called for more regulations for the construction industry on issues such as traffic, parking facilities, wastewater, standards for energy efficiency, as well as site waste management. (Read more)
