New Cambodia-Vietnam International Border in Preng Veng Temporarily Opens

The Cambodian government has temporarily opened the Meun Chey International Border connecting Cambodia’s Prey Veng province and Vietnam’s Tay Ninh province for inter-provincial usage, according to an announcement ceremony on 31 May.

Prey Veng Governor Chea Somethy said that the opening of this border gate will help facilitate and promote the transit and exchange of agricultural products in the border area.

The opening of this border checkpoint is also to attract more investors in and out of the country, especially those from the two border provinces, he added.

Besides, this border will also help boost the cooperation on the effective prevention of the spread of COVID-19.
