Ministry of Agriculture Grants 9,772 Hectares for Agro-Industry Development in Stung Treng

In a significant move to bolster agro-industrial development and stimulate economic growth, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MOAFF) has granted a substantial land concession of 9,772 hectares to local company LSCG Group and Chinese counterpart Green Sea Agriculture Co., Ltd. This endeavour marks a strategic partnership set to transform Stung Treng province into a hub for agro-industrial innovation and a burgeoning special economic zone.

Mr Ly Sok Chhay, General Director of LSCG Group, expressed enthusiasm for the concession, emphasising that his company, in collaboration with Green Sea Agriculture Co., Ltd, has secured the rights to develop this expansive 9,772-hectare area in Stung Treng. This venture aims to establish an agro-industrial special economic zone, a versatile multi-use area, state-of-the-art Auto-High Tech Greenhouses, an advanced irrigation system, and the largest solar power plant in Stung Treng province.

He highlighted the substantial support received from the Cambodian government, particularly the endorsement of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) for this ambitious project.

The project’s proponents are optimistic that this investment and developmental initiative will not only contribute significantly to the region’s economic landscape but also provide direct employment opportunities for the local populace in Stung Treng.

Mr Ly extended a warm invitation to both small and large enterprises interested in collaborative investment and development opportunities with their company. This venture signifies a pivotal moment in Cambodia’s agricultural and economic progress, promising to create a brighter future for Stung Treng and the nation as a whole.
