Ministry of Public Works launches Prepaid License Plate Top-Up program

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has launched Prepaid License Plate Top-Up program through a Mobile Banking account before the use of the newly-launched expressway aiming to reduce payment complications and congestion.

The program runs from November 14 onward with the first stage of implementation of the program is available only through the ANPR gate on the right side of the entrance to Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville.

To solve the problem of congestion, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, in collaboration with the expressway firm and financial institutions, decided to find a way to solve the problem through technology.

The Prepaid License Plate Top-Up program automatically deducts balance when vehicles cross through the expressway, the ministry said.

Prior to accessing the expressway, drivers can top up their Prepaid License Plate Top-Up by electronic payment system via Mobile Banking of partnered financial institutions and banks.

As of November 14, 2022, five financial institutions are partners with the ministry -Chip Mong Bank, ACLEDA Bank, ABA Bank), Wing Bank and Vattanac Bank.
