12 March
Islands concession in Kep under inspection

Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC) Minister H.E. Chea Sophara together with Tourism Minister H.E. Thong Khon led the expert team to inspect and verify the investment concession permit of private companies on several islands in Kep province on 12 March, to ensure the transparency within this sector.

Check on Khmer-Lao border patrol officers’ residence project

MLMUPC officers went to inspect progress of the Khmer-Lao army residential project construction site in Stung Treng province. This project includes building houses, roads and a water system, as well as other infrastructure to make the area livable and suitable for all officers.

Seminar on construction law and regulation held in Siem Reap

Secretary of State H.E. Chhan Saphan presided over the seminar in Siem Reap province on 19 March, which aimed to educate the related sectors about the construction law and regulations as well as to introduce the one-stop-service centre of the ministry to the public. The seminar agenda included instruction on the construction permit requesting procedure, construction site registration, company registration, and other regulations related to land management.

Arakawa’s affordable-housing project ready for sale

On behalf of the MLMUPC Minister, Dr Peng Hong Socheat Khemro, the director general of the Ministry’s housing Department presided the event organised by Arakawa, aiming to promote the project to government officers. Affordable-housing projects are low cost low housing projects built to sell for low and medium income buyers, especially government officers.

Ministry exchanges knowledge with Hong Kong Engineer Delegation

The MLMUPC Secretary of State H.E. Dr. Pen Sophal welcomed the engineering team from Hong Kong for their official visit to Cambodia. The visit this time was undertaken to exchange knowledge and important data within the engineer and construction sectors between both countries.

Ministry helps solve sugar cane farm concessional land issue in Koh Kong

MLMUPC Minister H.E. Chea Sophara held a meeting with relevant officers and an expert team to discuss and find the solution for the conflict between 375 local families and Koh Kong Planation Co., Ltd on the concessional land for a sugar farm in Koh Kong province.

MLMUPC Minister breaks ground PH Diamond Place mall

MLMUPC Minister H.E. Chea Sophara presided over the groundbreaking ceremony of PH Diamond Place mall. Located south of Phnom Penh along Hun Sen Boulevard, the mall is being constructed on about 6 hectares of land with an investment of USD60 million by Borey Peng Huot Group. The mall is set to be completed by 2020.

27 March
Inspection on Khmer-Lao border former army residential project

MLMUPC Minister H.E. Chea Sophara led the relevant officers to pay an official visit to the Khmer-Lao border at Siem Pang District of Stung Treng province on 27 March. During the visit, the team checked the housing construction progress, and also delivered gifts from Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen to the retired border patrol army officers in the area.

29 March
1356 land concession permits given to 776 families in Kampong Thom

MLMUPC has given a total of 1356 land concession permits to 776 families in Kampong Thom province. The permits are divided into two categories, one for housing and another for community agricultural usage. In addition, MLMUPC Minister H.E. Chea Sophara also inaugurated 17 public amenities such as teachers’ housing, schools, healthcare centres, roads, and other infrastructure that has been undertaken in the area.

Land within LASED II Project under evaluation

Officers from the MLMUPC, Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries, and Ministry of Interior together went on a field visit to check and evaluate the land within the Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development Phase II or LASED II in Kampong Phom Province.
