Modern Kroch Chhmar District Referral Hospital officially inaugurated

The modern Kroch Chhmar District Referral Hospital was inaugurated under the presidency of Prime Minister Hun Sen, on 3 April 2023.  This hospital is a gift from Prime Minister Hun Sen and his wife Bun Rany Hun Sen, with construction management under Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction HE Chea Sophara.

Located in Khsach Pracheu Leu village of Tbong Khmum province’s Krouch Chhmar district, the hospital comprises two main buildings of roughly the same size which is 18m wide and 62m long, each with four floors (15.10m) and 200 beds per building, providing various health services such as general examination, emergency, operating, and treatment rooms, medical laboratory, ultrasound, X-ray, obstetrics and gynaecology, pediatric and dental clinics, medical equipment and medicine warehouses.

During the inauguration ceremony, PM Hun Sen expressed his appreciation for the construction of the hospital saying that the Kroch Chhmar District Referral Hospital not only helps the people of Krouch Chhmar district but also helps other surrounding districts. He also instructed the hospital management to prioritize training technical equipment, skills, and professional ethics, ensuring the sustainability of hospital operations. He said that

The hospital’s first building started construction on 27 July 2020 and was completed on 11 February 2022, costing about $1.4 million. The second building started construction on 22 November 2021, and was completed on 17 March 2023.

This modern hospital will undoubtedly contribute to the improvement of the quality of healthcare in the region, serving the people in need of medical care with top-notch facilities and services.
