MPWT Uses High-Tech Machinery to Inspect Infrastructure Construction Quality

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) is launching a new hi-tech truck worth US$800,000 that can inspect the quality of bridges and other infrastructure constructions.

The technology was introduced for the first during the inspection on Prek Tamak Bridge by Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol on 2 November.

“The ministry has started using a car equipped with a modern system worth US$800,000 for the first time at the Prek Tamak Bridge. This vehicle can check the actual condition of the bridge construction at the bottom of the bridge to see if the bridge is cracked or damaged,” said HE Sun Chanthol.

“After using modern machinery to inspect the bridge, we found that the bridge had a slight crack, and he also told the Shanghai Bridge Construction Company to conduct the repair immediately,” he added.
