Pailin breaks ground on a 5km ring-road connecting to Chanburi

Pailin’s authorities broke ground on a 5 km Cambodia-Thailand ring-road linking Pailin and Chon Buri. The road is being built to facilitate travelling and as a territorial strategy.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held on 22 May 2020 presided over by H.E. Phan Chanthol, Governor of Pailin Province, officials, local authorities and team, according to the official website of the Pailin Provincial Administration.

The ring road is 5.2 km long with the width of 25 metres and filled with 1.5 kilometres of concrete and 3.7 kilometres of DBST, putting 10.4 metres of sewer canal using the provincial development budget.

The construction crosses two villages on the Cambodia-Thailand border from Phsar Prom and Aur Chheu Krom villages in Stueng Kach commune, Sala Krao district, Pailin to Chon Buri, to facilitate traffic and to form a territorial barrier.

“Today’s achievement is a response to the people’s request to facilitate citizen’s commute. We will continue to work to respond to the local needs and to solve their difficulties. Especially we will build better infrastructure and provide public services to the locals,” he said.

He also urged citizens to help preserve public property as well as to cooperate with the technical team to achieve this new ring-road as planned.
