Phnom Penh-Sihanouk expressway more than 7% completed

Construction of the Cambodia’s first express way linking the capital Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville province is now 7.3% completed, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

The US$2 billion project is being built by Cambodian PPSHV Expressway Co., Ltd with Minconsult Sdn. Bhd as the consultancy firm. The project, which started in March, will run along more than 190 kilometres with construction taking place over about 48 months.

The expressway will expand across five provinces starting from Village 1, Samrong Krom, Khan Por Sen Chey, Phnom Penh to Village 1, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville. (Read more)

According to H.E Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the project is expected to be completed in September 2022 ahead of the original planned schedule, in time before Cambodia hosts the 2023 SEA Game. (Read more)

In addition, the construction of the new Phnom Penh International Airport, located in Kandal province, is also scheduled to be completed in 2023. (Read more)
