PM asks to study on upgrading Lvea Em area into a new city in Kandal province

The Prime Minister of Cambodia Samdech Techo Hun Sen has proposed to study Lvea Em district as a new city for Kandal province.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for flyover construction on August 31, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said the new city would be administrated under the control of the Kandal province.

“Study is made on upgrading Lvea Em area to become Lvea Em city. Once done, the city will not be integrated into Phnom Penh, but it will be placed in Kandal province,” Samdech Techo Hun Sen said.

The government has so far announced to integrate partially of Lvea Em area into the Phnom Penh capital. (Read more)
