PM Hun Sen to Break Ground on Siem Reap 38-Road Renovation Project on 16 November

Prime Minister Hun Sen will preside over the ground-breaking ceremony of the Siem Reap 38-road renovation project on 16 November, according to the results of the ministerial meeting on 03 November.

Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol said in the meeting that as of 03 November, plenty of necessary work such as the demolition of illegal buildings located on state land had been completed.

He added that the working group has already finalised the technical specifications of the road, selected priority roads for a total length of 108km, discussed in detail with six construction units, made a complete assessment, and handed over the projects to the assigned construction units.

According to the minister, the construction of these 38 roads is divided into four categories, including:

Type 1: Paved with 25cm concrete layer, for the roads between the cities

Type 2: Paved with 20cm or 7cm concrete layers depending on the geographical and traffic conditions

Type 3: Repairing the foundation without coating with new concrete.

Type 4: Coating with 15cm concrete layers without repairing the foundation

In addition to the six construction units, the MPWT also set up eight more technical teams stationed in Siem Reap to monitor and report on the construction process, to ensure it is implemented in accordance with technical standards. (Read more)
