Siem Reap River Improvement Project Phase 2 Nears Completion

The Siem Reap River Improvement Project Phase 2 is making significant strides, with the project now completed by 97%. On its official Facebook page, the Siem Reap Provincial Administration announced on 21 August 2025 that the project is on track for completion by 1 July 2025.

The ongoing work focuses on restoring the river and enhancing the surrounding environment. Notably, the river restoration has reached full completion, while the weir construction stands at 98% completion. The concrete bridge work, encompassing three locations, is at 97%, and the associated concrete road construction is nearly finished at 99%.

Initiated on 16 May 2022, the Siem Reap River Restoration Project Phase 2 has garnered support from Korea to implement four major components for environmental improvement along the river. As the project progresses toward completion, it promises to enhance the region’s ecological and aesthetic quality, benefiting the local community and visitors alike. (Read more)
