Psar Dey Hoi Flyover to Temporarily Open During Khmer New Year

According to an announcement by Phnom Penh City Municipality, the new flyover bridge near Dey Hoi Market along Russian Boulevard will be temporarily open to the public during Khmer New Year, but will be closed again afterwards to fully complete construction.

The bridge will only be open between 12-17 April for vehicles less than 3 metres high. From April 18, the flyover will be half closed to allow final construction to take place and the full completion is scheduled for mid-May.

“The purpose of opening the flyover during this upcoming Khmer New Year period is to help ease the traffic in Phnom Penh as there will be many citizens travelling back to their hometown during this festival celebration, which can cause serious traffic congestion,” said Phnom Penh Municipal spokesman Met Measpheakdey.

This flyover will be the fifth such bridge to be built in Phnom Penh. Construction started in August 2016 and when complete it will be 905 metres long and 16.5 metres wide.
