Public works ministry to begin construction of major roads and bridge

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport will soon begin construction of major roads and a bridge, according to H.E Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister.

Addressing the ministry’s recent work progress at the recent ROAD CARE event, H.E Sun Chanthol said that five major roads and one bridge are to be constructed soon as feasibility studies and budgeting have been concluded.

According to the minister, those roads include National Road No. 10 connecting Samlot to Koh Kong, National Road No. 2, and National Road No.41 (linking National Road No.4 to National Road No. 3) while discussion has been concluded for National Road No. 31 connecting Beak Khos to Kompong Trach and National Road No.33 from Kampot to Kep.

In addition, H.E Sun Chanthol said that “we are studying the bridge crossing the Mekong River from Kratie. We are constructing a bridge in Stueng Trang. We are preparing to construct a bridge crossing the Mekong River in Kratie”.

Currently, there has been an announcement of a contract signing for 34 roads in Preah Sihanouk province, with construction likely to begin once the rainy season ends. (Read More)
