Director-General of Electricite du Cambodge (EDC) HE Keo Rattanak unveiled the plan during the site visit on Sunday 16 January, citing the solar plant cluster is also currently an active special economic zone (SEZ).

“SchneiTec Co., Ltd has developed a 90WM solar power plant and has already connected to the grid. We also got the approval from PM Samdech Hun Sen for the expansion project,” said HE Rattanak.

“The location of the solar plant is within the Krakor Special Economic Zone, which is home to many garment factories and assembly plants like the one of Ford Motor. This SEZ will continue to grow with many other development plans such as the Samdech Techo Hun Sen Sports Centre among others,” he added.
