Solar Power Station in Pursat to Generate Full Power in Early 2021

The solar power plant in Krakor district of Pursat province is scheduled to operate at its full power of 90-megawatts by early next year after already generating 30 megawatts of power to the grid.

The firm announced the timeframe of power generation during an official visit of Minister of Mines and Energy H.E. Suy Sem on 01 December.

Invested in by Schneitec Co Ltd, the solar station is built over 135 hectares of land located in Ansor Kdam village, Sna Ansa commune, Krakor district.

Since September, this power plant has already generated 30 megawatts of power to the national grid. (Read more)

In 2019, the Cambodian government approved two power projects in Pursat province; one is this solar project; and another is the 80-megawatt dam, located in Veal Veng district.

Besides the solar station in Pursat, Cambodia has other solar station such as 10-megawatt solar farm in Bavet city, Svay Rieng province, an 80-megawatt solar station in Kampong Speu province, a 60-megawatt solar station in Kampong Chhnang province, and 5-megawatts from a small-sized solar station in Bavet city.
