Renovation of Angkor Wat Front Area Reaching Completion

The renovation of the front area of Angkor Wat, including building a new walkway, rearranging gardens, and reorganising the street vendors and parking lots, is approaching completion.

Mr Sean Sokkhak, a tour guide in the Angkor area, said that the improvement of the Angkor Wat temple is beneficial for tourism.

He added that compared to the past, there is a big difference, such as a better-organised garden with tree species where tourists can learn and get shade at the same time.

Local people are also expressing strong optimism over this upcoming achievement in anticipation that after the COVID-19 crisis, more tourists will come back to visit Angkor Wat.

These renovations started at the end of 2019 to upgrade and rearrange the disorganised street vendors and parking areas. (Read more)
