The renovation of National Road No. 4 will commence in early 2019, according to senior officials from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT).

In a phone interview with H.E Vasim Sorya, spokesman of MPWT and Director General of the Department of Administration and Finance, the renovation of National Road No. 4 will start in early or mid of 2019 and is expected to finish within 16 to 18 months.

“The renovation of National Road No. 4 is not to expand the road, but improve road capacity and condition only,” he said, adding that there will additional asphalt on the roadside and it will not affect the people living along the road.

Moreover, upon completion, the National Road No. 4 will be under 5-years maintenance by private company. However, regarding the responsible company it is depend on bidding.

This renovation project is using a US$110 million loan from World Bank which was given to Cambodia earlier this month. Read more
