The grand inauguration of the Sihanoukville Tourism Port, spanning over 2 hectares of land, marks a significant milestone in Cambodia’s tourism landscape. The momentous event, held on July 6, 2023, was graced by the presence of HE Dr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, symbolizing the port’s official commencement.

Under the leadership of Tycoon Tea Vichet, CEO of GTVC Import Export Co., Ltd., the company has obtained the privilege to invest in a generous area of approximately 22,000 square meters, encompassing 20 ports of entry and exit. This new tourism hub not only showcases the immense potential of Sihanoukville to welcome visitors from diverse nationalities but also guarantees a secure and seamless experience, with a dedicated team of 225 staff members providing exceptional hospitality services.

Minister of Tourism, HE Dr. Thong Khon, emphasized the vital role of the tourism port in strengthening Cambodia’s tourism industry that “By ensuring convenience, safety, and efficient operations, this prominent establishment serves as a catalyst for job creation, economic growth, and the overall promotion of Sihanoukville’s island tourism.”

The minister further highlighted the significance of cultural and nature tourism in driving macroeconomic growth and social development, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing the country’s infrastructure to foster Cambodia’s tourism sector.
