Smart Eden Expands Cambodian Product Exports to France

In a significant development for Cambodia’s export market, Smart Eden has announced plans to expand the export of Cambodian products to France, bolstered by a robust distribution network of over 6,000 locations across the country. This major announcement was made during a meeting with HE Hem Vandy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, and CEO Laurent Strauch, along with prominent entrepreneur Oknha Hun Lak.

Smart Eden has been exporting cashew nuts and mango seedlings from Cambodia to France since 2024, a venture that has garnered enthusiastic support from French customers. Laurent Strauch emphasized the company’s growth trajectory, highlighting Smart Eden’s expansive sales network and its commitment to elevating Cambodian agricultural products in the French market.

Looking ahead, Strauch outlined an ambitious plan to expand the product range from 10 to 15 items in 2025. This includes popular Cambodian products such as rice, pepper, palm sugar, and charcoal, with the exciting addition of cashew butter set for export to France.

Furthermore, Strauch expressed interest in leveraging Cambodia’s strategic location as a hub for distributing quality French products throughout the region, signifying a potential collaboration that could enhance trade relations.

Minister Hem Vandy echoed the significance of these developments, reiterating the Cambodian government’s commitment to prioritizing the growth of the cashew sector as a strategic commodity. He aims to position Cambodia as one of the largest global suppliers of cashew products.

Highlighting the importance of a market-driven approach, HE Vandy discussed the need for supply chain optimization to maximize economies of scale and effectively meet market demands. He also welcomed Smart Eden’s initiative to produce cashew butter and encouraged further exploration of other Cambodian products, advocating for collaboration with local entrepreneurs and government partners.

This initiative marks a promising step forward for Cambodia’s economy, fostering international trade and showcasing the nation’s agricultural potential on a global platform.
