Study on Urbanization Master Plan in Phnom Penh’s Southern Area Starts

Phnom Penh Municipal and Paris City have teamed up to jointly conduct a study for master plan on urbanization development in southern part of Phnom Penh city focusing on public space, sanitary, environment in the city.

The story project was announced in a workshop on development plan in southern area of Phnom Penh which was held on April 30.

Meat Measpheakdey, spokesman at the Phnom Penh Municipal, told Construction&Property Magazine on Thursday that the study focuses on the development and integration in the southern area due to the increasing development and residents.

The technical team focuses on the preparation and connection of infrastructure, mapping the green space area, sewage system in the area to the surrounding areas, Mr Measpheadkey said.

“The study will focus on preparation of urbanization as whole and result of study will be complemented and matched with the exiting urbanization plan of Phnom Penh City,” Mr Measpheakdey said.

With increasing of lifestyle of people and increasing development, the master plan of urbanization development is important, he said, cited that the study is mainly aimed to mapping the location infrastructure of road, sewage system, and connection of road.

The southern area in Phnom Penh is from Doun Penh district to Dangkor district.
