Gov’t Gifts 300 Hectares of Social Concessional Land Near Cambodian-Vietnamese Border for Veteran Families

The Cambodian Government has announced the gift of a 300-hectare social land concession located along the Cambodia-Vietnam border line to veteran families and other stakeholders, according to the statement of Svay Rieng Provincial Administration on 5 March 2023.

The social land concession land is situated in Chantrea commune, Chantrea district, and Tnaot commune, Kampong Rou district, Svay Rieng province.

The government plans to construct 100 houses on this land as part of its commitment to provide homes for those in need. This generous act aims to provide better living conditions for soldiers, police, retirees, families of victims, and poor families.

HE Deputy Prime Minister Chea Sophara urged all relevant authorities to accelerate the preparation of necessary infrastructures such as waterways and electricity, ensuring the technical quality, especially for the houses planned to be built.

This initiative is part of the government’s ongoing commitment to provide social rehabilitation land in gratitude to veterans and border guards. To date, nearly 1.4 million hectares of land have been provided for this purpose. (Read more)
