Drainage System Upgrade on NR No. 4 in Phnom Penh Reaches 6.7% Completion

The ambitious project to enhance the drainage system along NR No. 4 in Phnom Penh has achieved a significant progress rate of 6.7% as of 25 July 2024, surpassing the planned target of 3.92%.

This milestone was reviewed during a meeting on 7 August 2024, which assessed the progress of the emergency investment project aimed at upgrading sewer infrastructure and drainage systems to mitigate flooding along this critical roadway.

The project’s main objective is to improve rainwater harvesting systems along NR No. 4, which is expected to significantly enhance public health, sanitation, and the overall aesthetics of Phnom Penh. This infrastructure development is crucial for addressing the city’s flooding challenges and ensuring a more resilient urban environment. (Read more)

In addition to the drainage system upgrade, the rehabilitation of NR No. 4 from Bek Chan commune in Kandal province’s Ang Snoul district to Bit Trang commune in Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province, has reached 54.80% completion. This project is on track for completion by the end of June 2026, further solidifying the infrastructure network essential for Phnom Penh’s growth and connectivity. (Read more)
