Techo International Airport Nears Completion as Connecting Road 50% Progresses

The highly anticipated Techo International Airport, a remarkable project by OCIC, is swiftly taking shape, with construction progress reaching significant milestones. As of June 2023, the airport construction has surpassed the halfway mark, standing at an impressive 50 percent completion. Concurrently, the connecting road, spanning 13.5 kilometers and measuring 60 meters in width, has reached 46 percent completion, according to the latest report from the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation.

The connecting road, linking Samdech Techo Hun Sen Boulevard to the Techo International Airport site, is a crucial component of the ambitious project. Its progress signifies the dedication and commitment of the involved stakeholders to ensure seamless accessibility to the future airport.

Charles Vann, Director of Cambodia Airport Investment Co Ltd (CAIC), shared exciting updates during a recent statement on June 30. He affirmed that the Techo International Airport’s construction is proceeding as planned, aiming for completion and commencement in 2025. Upon completion, the Techo International Airport will occupy an expansive 2,600-hectare plot in Kandal province, solidifying its status as one of the world’s largest airports.
