The US Seeking To Invest In Transport Infrastructure In Cambodia

US investors are looking for investment opportunities in transport infrastructure in Cambodia, as the Royal Government of Cambodia said welcomes all foreign investors who wish to invest in the transport infrastructure in Cambodia.

In a meeting held on June 1 with HE Koy Sodany, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Mr Moses An, Economic/Commercial Officer at US Ambassador fairs, explored the potential for infrastructure investment in​ Cambodia.

The meeting was aimed to discuss and seek investment and trade opportunities for US companies in current and future development projects of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

In the meeting, Mr Moses An expressed interest in the development of a number of sectors to contribute to the development of Cambodia.

The head of the Cambodian government said welcomes all investors who wish to invest in transport infrastructure and other sectors in Cambodia from other countries. The remarks were made at responding to alleged questions of Cambodia welcomes only Chinese investments;

More than 3,000 kilometres of roads and large-scaled bridges across the river have been built with Chinese financial assistance and Chinese-invested hydropower projects have played an important role in stabilizing Cambodia’s electricity supply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, said at the Forum on the Future of Asia on May 27.
