The US$19m SR Referral Hospital Nears Completion, Enhancing Healthcare Infrastructure in the Province

The highly anticipated Siem Reap Referral Hospital, a significant healthcare infrastructure project in Siem Reap province is on track for completion by the end of this year. With an impressive 80% of the construction already finalized, the hospital’s progress was recently assessed during an inspection visit by His Excellency Professor Mam Bun Heng, Minister of Health, on June 18, 2023.

Expressing the purpose behind the expansion, His Excellency stated that the enhanced facility aims to cater to the needs of the local population and the multitude of national and international tourists who visit the region. The hospital’s development has been made possible through the generous support of Japan, ensuring the integration of state-of-the-art medical equipment and advanced technology for improved healthcare services.

Highlighting the project’s objectives, the Minister emphasized its alignment with community requirements, emphasizing the importance of enhanced health service provision and modernization. With the completion of the new building and the installation of cutting-edge medical equipment by 2023, the Siem Reap Provincial Referral Hospital is set to emerge as a modern healthcare institution of regional significance.

Japan has contributed approximately US$19 million towards this construction venture, resulting in a four-story building equipped with 220 beds to accommodate patients. As the project nears its final stages, anticipation grows for the transformative impact it will have on healthcare services in Siem Reap province and the surrounding areas. (Read more)
