Kampong Cham Province Achieves Landmark: Over 720k Land Plots Registered, Reaching 80% Milestone

The Kampong Cham Provincial Authority has achieved a significant milestone by successfully registering an impressive 723,588 land titles. This substantial accomplishment translates to a remarkable 80% coverage of the estimated 924,421 plots of land within Kampong Cham province. The diligent efforts and systematic approach embarked upon since October 2003 have paved the way for this commendable feat.

The province marked this achievement during a pivotal gathering convened on the morning of 25 August 2023, aimed at discussing the progress and future prospects of land registration in Kampong Cham.

Reflecting on the systematic land registration journey, Mr Mahoudy, Director of the Department of Land Management, Urban Planning, Construction, and Cadastral Affairs of Kampong Cham Province, emphasized the province’s meticulous approach. With Kampong Cham province encompassing nine districts and one city, equivalent to 105 communes and four sub-communes, the extent of this achievement becomes all the more impressive.

Mr Mahoudy shared that the systematic land registration program initiated in October 2003 has so far resulted in the issuance of title deeds for 762,599 plots, an outstanding 83% of the targeted total. This effort, coupled with the issuance of 723,588 titles, reaching a commendable 80% of the envisioned 924,421 plots, signifies a substantial leap forward in secure land documentation for the province.

Presently, the dedicated land registration initiative is progressing through seven field groups situated across five districts. Stung Trang district leads with one group, while Veal Srey Santhor district, Veal district, Koh Sotin district, and Veal Leu district each contribute with two groups. Veal Leu village communes and plots round out this comprehensive effort. With an estimated 200,108 plots yet to be covered, the province remains resolute in achieving complete documentation.

In parallel, for state-owned land, a meticulous registration process has accounted for 4,955 plots. Of these, 2,655 have been cataloged as part of the state property inventory. Among them, 2,209 plots have already received issuance, while three plots are currently in the issuance process. The remaining 413 plots are poised for upcoming documentation.

During this significant meeting, the guidance of HE Un Chanda, the Governor of Kampong Cham Province, resonated. He directed all pertinent officials to persevere in systematic land registration efforts to meet the outlined plan. The Royal Government envisions Kampong Cham province as a beacon, setting an example by achieving 100% comprehensive land registration by the close of 2023 or the outset of 2024.
