Svay Rieng Province Flourishes with 12 Special Economic Zones and 264 Factories

Svay Rieng Provinc has emerged as a thriving business hub with the establishment of 12 special economic zones since 2005. According to HE Men Vibol, Governor of Svay Rieng Province, nine locations are currently operational, hosting a total of 264 factories, enterprises, and establishments, providing employment to over 94,000 workers.

Of these, 146 factories are operating within the SEZ, providing employment to over 82,000 workers, with 37 of them being garment and footwear factories employing 37,866 workers. Moreover, the province has 3,368 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that contribute significantly to the region’s economic development.

HE Men Vibol highlighted the success of Svay Rieng Province during a press conference on “Success in the past 5 years” of Svay Rieng Provincial Administration on April 27, 2023. The province’s progress in establishing and operating SEZs is a reflection of Cambodia’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment and boosting economic growth.

The establishment of SEZs in Svay Rieng Province has attracted both local and international investors, leading to a rise in employment opportunities and economic growth. The province is poised to attract more investors with its strategic location, proximity to major transport routes, and a young and skilled workforce.
