United States Eyes Investment Opportunities in Pursat Province

The US Ambassador to Cambodia has expressed interest in investment opportunities in Pursat province after this province recently received the major investment project of a Ford motor assembly plant worth over US$21 million.

Ambassador Patrick Murphy said during his official visit to Pursat province on 21 September that he is very proud of Pursat province for hosting the Ford motor assembly plant.

This investment will encourage more economic activities in the province and will also attract more investment in the future.

Ambassador Murphy added that another commendable achievement that the Pursat Provincial Administration is famous for the successful and effective land dispute solving procedure, which is also another factor that increases investors’ confidence.

The US$21 million Ford Motor Cambodia assembly plant was announced on 14 September after the investment firm RMA AUTOMOTIVE (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD reached an agreement with the government.

Set to begin construction soon, the plant will be built on over 4 hectares in Savorn village, Sna Ansa commune in Krakor district, 159 kilometres from Phnom Penh. (Read more)
