US$50 million Chinese-funded Tbong Khmum Hospital Set for Completion Late This Month

Construction of the US$50-million Cambodia-China Friendship Tbong Khmum Hospital is set for completion on 30 November this year, according to a site inspection by of Minister Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation HE Vong Sot on Friday 12 November.

HE Vong Sot said that the hospital will be the largest in the province and will provide the most up-to-date medical services to locals with standardised equipment.

The hospital consists of 8 buildings, each with 5 floors, and 24 metres high, with all buildings connected to each other. There are 5 floors for the inpatients department, 5 floors for obstetrics and gynecology, 2 floors for the administration department and doctors accommodation, and 1 floor for the general department.

The entire building is being built on an area of 24,300 square metres and will have a total area of 55,815 square metres.

The Tbong Khmum Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital is located in Nikom Leu village, Sralop commune, Tbong Khmum district, Tbong Khmum province. Construction began on 1 March, 2019. (Read more)

This project will be the second-largest hospital after the Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital.

The US$80-million Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital is currently under construction and has been set to put into temporary operation in September, and full-service by early 2022.(Read more)
