Renovation of the Angkor Grand Circuit Road to be completed in March

The renovation of the Grand Circuit road by the Apsara Authority in Siem Reap province is scheduled to be completed in March, marking a key infrastructure improvement in the province.

According to the Apsara Authority’s report, the renovation project has a total length of 2,476 metres, which is divided into two sections. The first section is 1,076 metres long from Pre Rup to Srah Srang temple, while the second one is 1,400 metres from the Srah Srang to Banteay Kdei temple.

The same source also added that the expansion varies between 6 and 9 metres in width depending on the actual road conditions.

After ground was broken in January, the project is now more than 50% complete as the first section is already done. The team is currently working on the foundation of the second phase.

H.E. Yit Chandaroat, Deputy Director-General of the Apsara Authority, said the main objective of the renovation is to ensure the smooth and safe travel for both locals as well as tourists.
