Rattanakiri Province Attracts 27 Private Companies for ELC Investment, 85% Vietnamese based

Rattanakiri province, with its favourable geographical and climatic conditions, has attracted a total of 27 private investment companies in the past five years to invest in economic land concessions (ELC), covering over 110,000 hectares. Over 85% of these companies are Vietnamese-based, according to Rattanakiri Provincial Governor HE Nhem Samoeun.

Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Soy Sona highlighted that Rattanakiri’s rich soil and favourable climatic conditions for planting and animal husbandry, combined with the abundant water supply from the Srepok and Sesan rivers, make the province an ideal location for agro-industrial crops.

The province’s total contracted investment area of over 110,000 hectares includes 80,000 hectares for business and 40,000 hectares for rubber and other crop planting investments. The investment provides income and drives the national economy, creates job opportunities and supports local people, Soy Sona added.

Rattanakiri’s potential for investment in ELC has attracted many private companies from Vietnam and other countries, with the majority being Vietnamese investors. The province’s favourable investment environment, along with its rich natural resources and strategic location, makes it a promising location for investment in various sectors.
