“Along the beach, we have set up 9 kilometers of beach as public beach and are now constructing concrete roads. We have just installed the sewage system for now. In the future, if we have to build public restrooms, and we will not allow the water that comes out of it to flow into the sea,” he said.

He also added that due to the current financial procedures, the project cannot be implemented immediately. The administration can only currently install a sewage system to prevent polluted water from entering the sea.

The 9km public beach is to be open to the public and accessibility to restrooms, baths, and seating area to be free of charge.

Recently, the Sihanoukville governor and OTRES MANAGEMENT CO., LTD., are improving and extending two Otres beaches to 1,746 meters long to enhance their beauty as well as transforming these beaches into public places. (Read more)
