Over 680 hectares of Boeung Ta Mok Allocated to Public and Private Sectors in 2020

In 2020 alone, the government has allocated Boeung Ta Mok land to the public and private sectors at least nine times or equal to over 682 hectares, according to documents obtained by Construction & Property Magazine as follows:

Early March 2020: 83 hectares of Beoung Ta Mok was granted to Phnom Penh Municipality to be developed as a national garden and public park. The first 8-hectare section of Beuong Ta Mok will be used for infrastructure development for the Ministry of Interior’s National Police Commissariat. Another 75 hectares will be transformed into a national garden and public park. (Read more)

27 April 2020: The government granted 30 hectares of Beoung Ta Mok to Mrs Kim Heang in exchange for three other plots of land. (Read more)

17 June 2020: The government allocated 10 hectares of Beoung Ta Mok to Mrs Chea Sopha Maden.

22 June 2020: Over 300 hectares of Beoung Ta Mok was given to the Ministry of National Defense for its new armed forces headquarters. (Read more)

01 September 2020: The government allocated 15 hectares of Beoung Ta Mok land to the Ministry of Rural Development to build a headquarters. (Read more)

25 September 2020: The Council of Ministers allocated 8 hectares of Beoung Ta Mok land to the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) to build a document storage facility. (Read more)

23 December 2020: The government allocated 20 hectares of Beoung Ta Mok land to Mr Lon Hak and Ms Chhun Chanthy.

23 December 2020: The government allocated 20 hectares of Beoung Ta Mok to build a new Calmette Hospital.

24 December 2020: Over 196 hectares of Beoung Ta Mok land was given to Ms Uy Bovy and Ms Kong Sothy.

Beoung Ta Mok (or Beoung Khob Srov) is huge lake encompassing 3,235 hectares of land in Kork Roka commune, Prek Pnov district, Phnom Penh. The lake is considered as state property controlled under Decree No. 20 dated February 20, 2016.
