314km Cambodia-Vietnam Border Road in Mondulkiri 80% complete

Construction of the 314-kilometre Cambodia-Vietnam border frontage road in Mondulkiri province is approximately 80% complete, according to Mondulkiri Governor Svay Sam Eang.

Governor Sam Eang said during a site inspection on 23 March that the road is adjacent to three provinces of Vietnam and will play an important role as a strategic route for Cambodia.

“Upon completion, this route will help ease the military border force to easily access and patrol the area. Besides the border security purpose, this route will also act as a new economic road for local people,” said He Sam Eang.

Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen previously stated that the Cambodia-Vietnam border frontage road is a long-term strategy for Cambodia, not only for security purposes but also for the border province such as Mondulkiri to further expand their economy, tourism, education and culture.
