New Kampot Concrete Bridge Set for Completion End of 2021

Construction of the Samdech Techo Troeuy Koh concrete bridge in Kampot city connecting Troeuy Koh and Andong Khmer communes is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2021, according to the Kampot provincial administration on 28 April.

Kampot Governor HE Cheav Tay said during the site inspection that his office has been urging the working group to speed up the construction progress and also asked the local authorities as well as the residents living nearby the site to strongly cooperate with the working group.

The construction of this bridge is funded by Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen. The bridge is made of concrete and is 75 metres long and 9 metres wide.

Today, residents in the area have been travelling on the old steel bridge, which was built in 2000. The bridge condition is dilapidated, causing a lot of difficulties for travellers.

Therefore, after the construction of the new bridge, it will help ease the travel of both locals and tourists, and especially the transportation of salt and fishery products.
