MPWT Minster Vows to Speed Up NR2 Renovation Following Slow Progress Complaints

Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol has promised to push construction firms to speed up work on the NR2 project and following the schedules after receiving many complaints about slow construction progress.

HE Sun Chanthol said during a PP-SHV expressway site inspection on 21 June that the ministry is now urging the construction team to build speed up their work, but also to ensure quality roads and technical standards.

The ministry has also set up two technical teams to inspect the construction works without prior notice to ensure quality.

The section of National Road No.2 covers a total length of 62.56 kilometres, from Takmao roundabout to Chambak and from Chambak to Doun Kaev roundabout in Takeo province. (Read more)

With ground broken in early 2020 at the same time as NR22, both projects are being built under a US$56 million budget, which is jointly financed by the South Korean government and Cambodian government budget.
