Private Firms Invest Approx. US$15million Setting Up Factories in Three Provinces

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has recently given permits to private firms to invest US$14.8.5 million in building factories in Kandal, Kampong Chhnang, and Takeo.

The first investment permit has been granted to Shining Fashion Industrial Co., Ltd. to invest US$3.4 million to build a garment factory in Trapeang Peuk village, Peuk commune, Ang Snoul district, Kandal province.

The second is Melyo Plastic Technology Co., Ltd, which will invest US$4.7 million to build an ice bucket and plastic container factory in Sangkat Roka Krau, Doun Kaev city, Takeo province.

The last investment permit has been granted to KICYN (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. with the firm investing US$6.7 million to build a garment factory in Trapeang Krasaing village, Trapeang Krasaing commune, Bati district, Takeo province.

These four aforementioned investment projects will create over 4,000 jobs for Cambodians.

According to a CDC report, in the first half of 2021, the CDC has approved 87 new investments both new and expansion projects, equivalent to almost US$3 billion, which is an increase of about 10% compared to the same period last year. (Read more)
