PPAP Mulls Establishing New SEZ Adjacent to Phnom Penh Port

Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP) has unveiled a plan to establish a special economic zone (SEZ) next to the current port location. The project was announced as the number of container traffic passing through the port has increased significantly.

Director General of Phnom Penh Autonomous Port HE Hey Bavy mentioned the plan in the opening ceremony of the new container terminal held on Monday.

According to HE Hey Bavy, the SEZ project is part of the infrastructure development supporting for the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port, while to date PPAP has reserved land for the establishment.

However, HE Hey Bavy did not disclose the details of the project such as the timeline and budget for the construction yet.
