Construction of NR48 aims for 15% completion by May this year

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has urged the construction companies to speed up the construction of NR48, aiming for 15% completion by the end of May 2022.

The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport HE So Victor set the work target at the meeting with related officials on Thursday 3 February.

The meeting also discussed the quality control, supply of equipment, machinery, manpower, design, challenges and solutions.

“This road is an important economic route, so the Ministry wants the companies to finish it according to the schedule, at least 15% by the end of May 2022,” said HE Victor.

Representatives of the construction company committed to speed up the progress under the quality-first policy.

NR48 has a total length of 148km connecting NR4 in Sre Ambel district to Khemarak Phoumin city of oh Kong province. The ground was officially broken on 3 January under the presidency of PM Samdech Hun Sen. (Read more)

The road is being built by the South Korean company ILSUNG & HANIL Joint Venture and technically inspected by KCI & KECC Joint Venture, with a total budget of US$65.14 million, a concessional loan from the Government of the Republic of Korea.
