AC & Concrete Roads Account for 50% of Over 18,000 km Roads Built

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has built a total of 18,125 km of roads across the country, of which more than half are AC and concrete roads.

The figures were shared by Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol in the Transport Committee Meeting held virtually on 23 February.

HE Sun Chanthol confirmed that Cambodia has been investing heavily in the development of the road network infrastructure.

“National Roads and provincial roads are now 18, 125 km, and 9,896 km of which are paved with asphalt concrete (AC) and concrete roads, or equivalent to 54.60%,” said HE Chanthol.

Besides, 20 major bridges have also been built, while three airports have been upgraded to international standards with three others under construction, HE Sun Chanthol added.
