Cambodia Expects More International Tourism Through Vietnam-Thailand Maritime Link

The Ministry of Tourism has expressed expectations for an increase in international tourists by connecting shipping lanes from the border corridor with Vietnam and Thailand. This was stated by His Excellency Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism in a workshop on May 30.

HE Thong Khon said that Cambodia also has cooperation to promote the movement of tourists in the coastal areas with neighboring countries such as Vietnam and Thailand after these countries reopened to tourists. (Read more)

If the development of Kampot and Kep provinces is good, Cambodia will be able to attract a lot of tourists from Vietnam by connecting the route from the border of high-speed ships connecting tourist destinations from Koh Tral (Fukuk); come to Kampot port and Kep port.

Tourists from Thailand can also travel to Koh Kong, then Sihanoukville, and other provinces along the coast, as well as ecotourism.

Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand have already launched the Cambodia-Thailand-Thailand Economic Corridor (CVTEC), which also promotes the movement of tourists from each other. The provinces and cities involved in the CVTEC include Choul Borey, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Koh Kong, Sihanoukville, Kampot, Kep, Kieng Yang, and Kanter.
