Ministry of Public Works Seeks Infrastructure Building Technical Training Cooperation with Japan

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has sought cooperation with Japan in training skills in road construction and physical infrastructure.

The remark was made by HE Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transport in a meeting with HE Mikami Massahiro, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia on 15 June.

HE Sun Chanthol briefed the head of the Japanese diplomatic mission on the purpose of establishing the Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport to train the next Cambodian generation to have the ability to build good quality roads and bridges.

He requested the Japanese ambassador to consider the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Japanese faculties or universities with the Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport to train more Cambodian engineers and technicians to contribute to building more infrastructure.

For his part, HE Mikami Massahiro praised the leadership of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport for its efforts to develop and improve physical infrastructure throughout the country.
