India Provides Loan of Over US$35 Million to Develop Stueng Svahab Reservoir in Kampong Speu

The Republic of India has provided approximately US$36.92 million in loans for the implementation of the five-year Stueng Svahap Water Resources in Kampong Speu, according to a Kick-off Meeting on 30 June 2022.

The meeting reviewed and discussed the five-year WAPCOS-PMC project management action plan, including:

• Preparation of a DPR detailed study report.
• Engineering procurement arrangement.
• Project management and construction supervision.
• Organize the management, maintenance, and operation of project achievements.

Stueng Svahab Reservoir is a flood control infrastructure for Stueng Prek Tnaot and solves water availability in the event of drought.

This reservoir has a storage capacity of about 150 million cubic meters, which can irrigate 26,000 hectares in the rainy season and 10,000 hectares in the dry season.
