Prey Veng Province Boasts 43 National and Provincial Roads, Totaling Over 852km in Length

Prey Veng Province has announced that it has a total of 43 national and provincial roads with a length of over 852km. The announcement was made during a press conference on “Success in the past 5 years” of Prey Veng Provincial Administration on March 22, 2023.

According to the statement, the province has 6 national roads spanning 214.24km and 37 provincial roads covering 638.18km. In addition to these, Prey Veng has 1,097 lanes of rural roads, which stretch over 3,570km and are considered the main economic arteries connecting cities/districts to communes/Sangkat.

The province has also constructed several bridges in the past few years, including 129 concrete bridges with a length of 6,613 meters, two ballet bridges with a length of 117 meters, and one cable-stayed bridge with a length of 2,215 meters.

Furthermore, Prey Veng has invested more than US$135.66 million in public works and rural development projects over the past five years. As a result, the province has built 228.77km of paved roads, 23.51km of concrete roads, and 471.98km of red gravel and mountain sand. The construction also included 20 bridges with a length of 594 meters and a drainage system along the road measuring 5.36km.

The extensive network of roads and bridges is expected further to improve transportation and connectivity within Prey Veng Province, boosting economic development and attracting investment opportunities in the area.
