Indonesian Investors Show Interest in Cambodia’s Investment Opportunities with US$69M Proposals

Cambodia is attracting new foreign investment from Indonesia, with proposals for 22 projects worth about US$69 million in industrial, agricultural, and service sectors. The Council for the Development of Cambodia confirmed the proposals on 3 April 2023, following a courtesy call between HE Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and a delegation from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).

During the meeting, HE Sok Chendasophea encouraged Indonesian investors to take advantage of new investment opportunities under the development of Cambodia’s investment attraction policies mentioned in the investment law of Cambodia, which was promulgated on 15 October 2021.

In response, the ICCI Chairman, M. Arsjad Rasjid P.M, expressed the willingness of Indonesian investors to invest in Cambodia, contributing to the diversification of investment goals in Cambodia in key areas, either in the form of direct investment or through joint ventures with local enterprises or public-private partnerships.

As Cambodia continues to promote its investment policies and attract foreign investment, it presents an excellent opportunity for international investors to establish a foothold in the region’s growing economy. The Council for the Development of Cambodia welcomes Indonesian investors to take part in Cambodia’s investment opportunities to create mutually beneficial outcomes for both nations.
